Is this really H2?
Someone has called, messaged or emailed in our name and you want to be sure. Good. Here is how to check it yourself, without needing to trust anything the message says.
Check our registration on AMFI
Every mutual fund distributor in India must be registered with the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and carry an ARN, its registration number. Ours is ARN-200996. You can confirm it on AMFI’s own website, not on ours:
- Type AMFI’s address yourself, or open amfiindia.com. Do not use a link sent to you in a message.
- Go to the section for distributors and open the search for ARN holders. AMFI rearranges its menus from time to time, so look for the distributor search rather than an exact label.
- Search for the ARN 200996.
- Read the record. It shows the registered name, the ARN’s validity date and its status. The validity date matches the one on our disclaimer page.
Two more checks need no website at all. Your account statement from the fund house shows the ARN of the distributor on each investment, and the phone number and email address on this site are the only ones we use: +91 77779 47060 and info@h2investment.in.
AMFI’s distributor search (on its website, under Distributor > Locate a MF Distributor) also lists ARNs that have been suspended or terminated. SEBI’s website, sebi.gov.in, lists registered investment advisers; H2 Investment is a mutual fund distributor (ARN-200996), not an investment adviser.
What H2 will never ask you for
If anyone using our name asks for any of these, it is not us. Stop there.
- An OTP, a password, a PIN, a UPI PIN or your card details.
- Money sent to a personal account, a UPI ID, a wallet, or any account other than the scheme’s own account with the fund house.
- Cash, for any reason.
- Installing a screen-sharing or remote-access app on your phone or computer.
- Joining a WhatsApp or Telegram group to receive “tips”.
- A decision before a deadline. We never rush you, and we never promise a return: no mutual fund return is guaranteed.
Where your money actually goes
When you invest through us, your money goes from your own bank account to the scheme’s account with the fund house. It never passes through H2 Investment, and we never hold it. The units are allotted in your name, and the record of them is kept by the fund house and its registrar (RTA), not by us.
After each transaction the fund house or its registrar confirms it to the mobile number and email address registered on your account, and your consolidated account statement lists every holding. A transaction you did not ask for, or a change to your contact details or bank account that you did not make, is a reason to call the fund house straight away, using the number on its own website.
This is also why keeping your KYC details current matters: the alerts only protect you if they reach you.
Common scams SEBI has warned about
SEBI, the securities market regulator, publishes public cautions about the frauds it sees, including one on scams run through social media platforms in May 2025. The patterns repeat:
- Unsolicited groups. An invitation to a WhatsApp or Telegram “VIP” group, free trading course or tips channel, often run by people posing as experts.
- Impersonation. Someone claims to be from a registered broker, adviser, distributor or fund house, or uses the name of a well-known person, to win your trust.
- Fake apps and websites. A trading or investment app that shows a growing balance which you can never withdraw.
- Special access. Offers of “institutional” accounts, discounted IPO allotments or privileged market access that ordinary investors supposedly cannot get.
- Promised returns. An offer to double your money or pay a fixed return. No mutual fund return is assured or guaranteed; mutual fund investments are subject to market risks.
SEBI’s advice is the same each time: do not act on unsolicited messages, check that the person or firm is registered, and transact only through the genuine channels of a registered entity. The full cautions are on SEBI’s website, sebi.gov.in.
If something looks wrong
- Stop. Do not pay, do not share an OTP, and do not install anything.
- If money has already gone, call 1930, the national cyber crime helpline run under the Ministry of Home Affairs, or report it at cybercrime.gov.in. Tell your bank as well. The sooner a fraud is reported, the better the chance of stopping the money.
- If it involves a mutual fund account, tell the fund house or its registrar, using the contact details on their own websites.
- If someone used our name, tell us at info@h2investment.in or +91 77779 47060, so we can warn others.
- If your complaint is against a SEBI-registered entity, such as a fund house or registrar, and it is not resolved, you can lodge it on SEBI’s SCORES portal at scores.sebi.gov.in. A dispute with a fund house that is still unresolved can then go to the SMART ODR portal at smartodr.in, run through the stock exchanges and depositories. Complaints about a distributor’s conduct go to AMFI. The full order, from us to SMART ODR, is in our grievance redressal process.
Who H2 Investment is
H2 Investment is an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor, ARN-200996, based in Ahmedabad. We are a distributor, not an investment adviser, and we have no product of our own. If a friend sent you to us, this page explains what we do. For more on who regulates whom, see SEBI vs AMFI, and for what protects an investment and what does not, is a mutual fund safe?
